 Welcome to the Grantham Kip McGrath Education Centre, offering top quality after school tuition in Reading, Spelling, English and Mathematics. The Centre opened in May, 2006, and has all the facilities of a modern tuition centre specially designed to be an inspiring place where your child will want to learn. We are conveniently situated on Swinegate; an ideal and peaceful setting close to St. Wulfram’s Church and centrally located in town. Students living in Grantham and the surrounding area benefit from the extensive programmes and expert tuition available, delivered by highly experienced, skilled and caring teachers.

Directors of the Grantham Centre are RICHARD and DENISE BURROWS. Richard has taught in a variety of schools for over 30 years and was Headteacher of a local Primary school from 1987 until early 2006, when he took early retirement. Denise holds a Bachelor of Education Degree, and has also had extensive experience in a wide range of schools, including many years in the role of Coordinator for children with special educational needs. Together we bring a formidable wealth of knowledge and experience to this Grantham Centre.

We offer a detailed free assessment to establish the level at which each student is working and to identify areas in which they may be struggling. An individual work programme is then devised and this is carefully designed to give immediate success and build confidence from the start. Students alternate between using the extensive range of unique Kip McGrath software at the computers and tackling a variety of written tasks in their workbooks.

We specialise in providing tuition to students aged 6 - 16, in the following areas:

READING - from virtual non-readers to children having only minor difficulties.

SPELLING - not all children grasp spelling as a skill and many need a structured formal approach to help develop their confidence and achievement.

ENGLISH - we assist students in improving their skills in grammar, punctuation, word knowledge, written expression and formal essay writing.

MATHEMATICS - we help children who have missed out on some of the basic building blocks of maths, with a regular focus on number bonds and tables, along with helping higher achieving students to reach their full potential in the subject.

We also provide tuition for students leading up to exams & scholarships, along with 11+, SATS and GCSE preparation.
