At Kip McGrath Gateshead East, our mother and daughter team Carol Milne and Julia Poole, have the very best interests of their students at heart. They are passionate about children’s well-being and have a focus on building student’s confidence.

Carol holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education teaching qualification and is a highly experienced professional. Julia graduated from Newcastle University with an honour’s degree in English Linguistics. She has had a distinguished ten-year career in both corporate and people management and comes with a breadth of human resources and business skills.

An initial assessment of reading age, comprehension age, spelling level and maths level and skills is utilised to develop a personlised learning programme for each individual student. Every student receives one on one teaching time with a highly experienced, fully qualified teacher. Repetition and consolidation are key to ensuring student’s progress at their own rate, when they have fully grasped concepts and skills.
